MRR’s vision is an island nation that has fully protected 30 percent of its waters from all extractive activities and is sustainably managing the remaining 70 percent. MRR’s work has been focused on supporting the creation of new marine protected areas (MPAs), promoting sustainable coral reef fisheries and sustainable tourism, and engaging other Maldivians in marine conservation. We are based in Laamu Gan and through our work in Laamu Atoll, we hope to create models for marine resource management and conservation throughout the Maldives
